New- Mobal WiFi has had a big upgrade. 

Here at Mobal we are constantly looking for new ways to make Japan WiFi more accessible. Since launching in 2020, Mobal WiFi has provided our customers with a portable, pocket-sized device that connects to all four of Japan’s major networks. Our portable device also means our customers can take Mobal WiFi all over the beautiful country of Japan. Why is it so hard to get WiFi in Japan? 

When moving to a new country, getting a reliable internet connection set up is the last thing on your list, as most people presume it’s an effortless process. Unfortunately, Japan WiFi providers like to make you jump a couple of hurdles before you can receive your WiFi and install it in your home.  Here are a few reasons why Mobal enables you to gain access to Japan’s network providers seamlessly. 

1. With most Japanese providers, the application process for gaining access to WiFi is a lengthy and time-consuming matter. Usually, it is a two week wait from the time you apply for WiFi to the delivery and installation of the product. But with Mobal, you‘ll be up and running in a matter of days. 
2. Fiber optic connection is only available in certain parts of Japan. These destinations are your major cities in Japan like Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto. Because Mobal WiFi connects to all four major networks through 4G, you’ll get a great connection wherever you are! 
3. Set up fees, most WiFi providers in Japan will charge you a fee to purchase a product from their company. These fees can be up to ¥20,000. On the other hand, Mobal WiFi costs just ¥6,980 up front! 
4. After you have paid your set up fee, you are more than likely going to have to purchase a long-term contract. These contracts are usually a duration of 1 to 2 years. Not with Mobal! Mobal Japan WiFi contracts are just 3 months long – you can cancel any time after that. 

  

So, what is new for Mobal WiFi? 

We now offer up to 300GB of data per month (that’s 3x more than before!) for new and existing customers. Our new customers at Mobal can simply select their plan when they activate their device. If you’re an existing customer, you can upgrade your plan easily through your online account. If you choose your plan to start immediately this will reflect in the cost of your bill at the end of the month, or you can opt to start your plan at the beginning of a new calendar month.  

 

More data is a plus for all our customers! Whether you are resident in Japan or an explorer, having more data in your pocket means more calls home, higher quality streaming and never having to worry about running out.  On top of this, the device is yours to keep, and there’s no need to return it at the end of your contract. You can continue using it on a month-to-month basis—no long-term commitments, just simple, reliable WiFi.
