Pub Guide: Shinjuku

Shinjuku! Entertainment, Skyscrapers (most in Japan), Restaurants (most in Japan), Station (Guinness Book of World Records official Busiest Station in the World). Our Pub Guide will help lead you astray! Also covers pubs in nearby Nakano!

2
Berg (Beer and Cafe)

1 minute walk from Shinjuku Station

Berg is truly a hidden gem of Shinjuku! Upon first inspection you maybe wondering what it is exactly that Berg do. The answer is that they do a little bit of everything! They are open for every meal of the day, are a perfect stop of coffee or beer, and sell a mixture of German, French and British style food! Despite the rather bizarre combination on offer, Berg boasts some of the most positive feedback from tourists and locals in the Shinjuku area!

3
Deathmatch in Hell

Times:
Mon-Saturday: 8pm-3am

If you’re a bit of a metal head and enjoy a good horror movie be sure to check out this pub! Deathmatch in Hell has a great deal of character, to the extent where you’d think you were in a horror museum! Death metal is playing all night, and to give the bar that extra hellish touch all drinks on the menu cost 666 yen! Why not come and find out why Deathmatch in Hell receives borderline perfect reviews!

4
Peter Cole Irish Pub (Shinjuku Branch)

1 min from Nishi-Shinjuku Gochome (Oedo Line)
Times:
Monday-Thursday 3pm-Midnight
Friday-Sunday 3pm-1am
This guide’s editor is proud of his role in having a pub in Japan named after a lake monster in Ireland. The Peter Cole however is a whole new level! It’s named after a real Irishman who changed the Guinness landscape in Japan. A Quality engineer sent from Guinness heaven who saved Guinness in Japan from mediocrity while drinking his fair share! He has been fondly remembered in his adopted home. All hail Peter Cole!

Shinjuku baru

Another point to note is that despite the Japanese style you will still be able to order a nice big pint of Guinness!
