How Mobal Gives Back: A Glimpse into Touka Free School

At Mobal, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting projects that make a difference in the lives of those in need. We’ve recently shifted our focus from our previous support for the Happy House after-school feeding project, which is happily now able to self-sustain without our donations, to something new and equally impactful. We’re excited to share that we now provide monthly support to the Touka Free School, a remarkable initiative dedicated to helping children who, for various reasons, are no longer able to attend regular schools.

Our partnership with the Touka Free School began in September, and we’re proud to be a part of their mission. With ongoing support paid for by the profits made by Mobal (donations are made via the Japanese registered NPO Seibo Japan), we aim to make a positive impact in the lives of these children and their guardians. We have witnessed the incredible work this organization is doing to support these kids and their unique educational needs.

Touka Free School, located in the Setagaya area of Tokyo, has a long-standing commitment to providing education and life skills to children who face challenges in traditional school settings. This commitment aligns perfectly with our values at Mobal, and we couldn’t be happier to support their cause.

One of the ways we’ve contributed to the Touka Free School is by providing funding for a coffee machine that serves coffee from our charity partners at Warm Hearts Coffee. This not only makes it a more welcoming space for the guardians but also supports the school’s initiatives. Additionally, our donation goes towards providing food for the various meals prepared throughout the month, ensuring that the children have access to nutritious and delicious meals.

In September, we got a closer look at the incredible work being done at the Touka Free School. Here are some of the highlights:

14th September: The children planned and prepared a delightful meal of ‘Yakisoba noodles’ and ‘Takoyaki Octopus Balls.’ They even shopped for the necessary ingredients themselves and had the chance to serve the meal to local people. This hands-on experience not only teaches them important life skills but also fosters a sense of community and generosity.

24th September: In another exciting activity, the children learned how to set a fire for the purpose of cooking a meal, and they successfully cooked delicious curry rice. This kind of practical learning is invaluable, as it equips them with essential life skills while boosting their confidence.

We are thrilled to be a part of the Touka Free School’s journey and the positive impact they are making on the lives of these children. We look forward to continuing our support and witnessing the growth and development of the students as they face the unique challenges of their educational journey.

At Mobal, we remain committed to supporting projects that create positive change, and we’re honored to be a part of the journey at the Touka Free School. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and help them build a brighter future.
