We are proud to release a new version of our Japan SIM which gives 4G LTE data to iPhone and Android users!

Our previous version of the SIM allowed 4G LTE speeds when used in an iPhone, but a maximum of 3G speeds when used in an Android phone. We’ve now introduced a new Android-specific SIM which allows 4G LTE speeds. So, now, both Android & iPhone users can take advantage of super-fast 4G data in Japan!

Data on our Japan SIM is fast, free and unlimited, you get 7GB of 4G LTE data. If you use more than 7GB, speeds drop to 128 kilobits per second, which is still good for most uses. There are no caps on the amount you can use, it’s completely unlimited!

You can use the Japan Unlimited SIM in any unlocked phone that supports the 3G Band 1 (2100MHz) frequency. In order to benefit from 4G LTE speeds, your phone must also have the 4G Band 1 (2100MHz) frequency.

In addition to 4G LTE data in Japan, the Mobal Japan SIM also gives you a Japanese phone number, free incoming calls & texts, and free calls to other Mobal Japan SIMs from 1am to 9pm every day!

If you are an Android user with one of our original SIMs and you would like to upgrade to the new service, please just get in touch with our support team at support@mobal.com and we will be glad to organize a replacement 4G SIM free of charge for you. As long as your phone has the 4G Band 1 (2100MHz) frequency, you can benefit from 4G LTE data speeds. Please note that, unfortunately, we cannot transfer your original phone number to the new SIM, so you get a new phone number with your new SIM.
