Visiting the United Kingdom doesn’t have to be the same old standard tourist experience. Get out there and really explore what the United Kingdom has to offer, and most of all – have fun!
1. Stonehenge
If you’re like most people, you’ve probably heard of or at least seen images of Stonehenge, but didn’t know where it was. Many people are surprised to find out that Stonehenge is located right in the grand old United Kingdom. Each year thousands of visitors descend upon Stonehenge to bask at the alien like stone doorways and the moviesque backdrop.
If you’re looking for a magical moment to remember forever, this is definitely the place to be.
2. London Dungeons
One of the favorite tourist attractions for out of town visitors is the London Eye. However, if you’re tired of the same old touristy activities, why not nip on over to the London Dungeons located just a stone’s throw away. Here, you will be guided through the country’s scariest castle by Merlin the Magician. This theatrically themed tour isn’t for the faint of heart though. Many visitors have been seen running from the castle in as little as 15 minutes into the tour – so come and visit, if you dare!
3. River Thames
The River Thames runs through the center of the bustling city of London. Although it’s a beautiful sight to behold from afar, it’s even better up close. If you’re looking for something romantic to do, or just to pass some time with friends, why not book a cruise. The River Thames cruise takes you down the river past the lovely London skyline and all of the familiar landmarks such as the London Eye and the National Maritime Museum.
4. Southend-on-Sea
Southend-on-Sea, located in the Southeast is home to some of the country’s most popular B&Bs and penny arcades. It’s also home to one of the world’s longest boardwalks. Visitors come to Southend during the summer to enjoy fun in the sun along the seafront and to go on a romantic stroll on the boardwalk. If you’re feeling lucky, stop in at the Southend Casino located right on the sea!
5. Lake District National Park
Lake District National Park looks like the backdrop from a magical movie like Harry Potter or the Chronicles of Narnia. The scenery is so breathtaking that most visitors just find themselves taking pictures or picnicking never wanting to part from the scenery for one moment. However, if you want a little action, you can hike, walk, run or cycle here.

6. Newquay
Newquay has been coined ‘the place where fun begins’ and it has earned the title rightfully. This adult playground has boating, treasure hunts, zoos, trains, museums, aquariums and more. If you get a bit parched after all of the activities, stop into the Central Inn or Newquay Meadery to grab a drink and a bite to eat.

7. Bath
Feeling a bit romantic? If so, you may want to visit Bath. The architecture, historic landmarks and scenery will blow your mind! As the name implies, you can come here to take, well, a bath – but not just any bath – a mystical Roman bath. Visitors often come to Bath to enjoy the scenery, but many come to enjoy the large Roman-like spas. Many of these spas have been around since Medieval times and a few are more modern. Take your honey to them all or book a romantic private spa for two, whichever you choose you won’t be disappointed.
8. Blenheim Palace
If you’re in the UK during the Spring, Summer or Fall, visit Blenheim Palace. Here you can enjoy a picnic in the Formal Gardens, Sunday brunch at the Orangery or a little shopping in the Palace stores. However, if you purchase an annual pass, you can take part in some of the many annual events that are hosted here. The events span from wine tastings to marathons.
9. The Royal Pavilion
(George IV’S Pleasure Dome) – For a mere 10 pounds, you can tour the Royal Pavilion located in Brighton. This unbelievable structure looks like a building you’d spot in Russia’s Red Square. The Royal Pavilion was once home to Prince Regent (George IV), but in the early 1800s an architect by the name of John Nash completely transformed the structure into the domed beauty you see today.
10. Cadbury World
Who doesn’t like a bit of chocolate? Well, if you can’t go a day without the hypnotizing smell of cocoa beans, then you should visit Cadbury World! This chocolatey dreamland is a maze of hidden chocolate gems. Cadbury chocolate world contains themed rooms such as the Aztec Jungle where you’ll learn about chocolate from the Aztec times and Cadabra where you’ll tour around the props in a Beanmobile. Don’t forget to stop at the Chocolate Room where you can make and taste all of the creamy, liquid chocolate you want.
