This report highlights the collaborative efforts of Mobal, MobalPay, and our partners, the Krizevac Project and Seibo, in driving sustainable change and improving lives through education, community support, and economic upliftment.

 

Key Highlights from the 2023 Impact Report

 

Education

• State-of-the-Art Facilities: We opened the Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Institute and completed a new building for John Paul II Catholic College in Chilomoni.
• Academic Excellence: The Carlo Acutis Catholic High School achieved a 100% pass rate for Form Two students.
• Nutritional Support: Our efforts through Seibo Maria led to feeding 95% of targeted learners, significantly improving student health and attendance.

Community Support

• School Meals: Over 18,000 meals provided daily to nursery and primary school children, ensuring no child misses out on education due to hunger.
• Welfare Programs: Supported 3,901 beneficiaries with various programs addressing education, health care, and child protection needs.

Economic Development

• Job Creation: Created over 7,000 jobs in Malawi, contributing to local economic development.
• Enterprise Growth: Supported the expansion of Torrent Logistics and Torrent Plant Hire, which added essential services to the community.

 

Inspiring Stories

The report also features inspiring stories like that of Meggie Chisamba, whose academic success at Kamuzu College of Health Sciences was bolstered by our after-school programs, and Alice, a young mother who overcame mental illness with the help of community support, transforming her life and her daughter’s future.

 

Looking Ahead: Vision for 2024

Building on our successes, we plan to:

• Construct student hostels to enable rural girls to access high school.
• Expand teachers’ housing to address the challenges of rapid urbanization.
• Secure a sizable farm to grow food for Seibo and our schools, enhancing food security and economic resilience.
